Join us online, in New York City, and in Chicago for Socialism 2024

You can’t do socialism alone. That’s why Liberation Road is excited to announce three upcoming events where you can join us and other allied organizations to build a stronger left together!  

In our recent position paper “Block, Broaden, Build,” we argued that there are three key tasks for socialists in 2024: to block fascist forces from seizing power, broaden an anti-fascist front to defeat them, and build the independent political power of the left. 

Now, we are excited to announce three upcoming events where we will dive into those three tasks more deeply:

• Join Liberation Road for a webinar “3 Socialist Tasks for 2024” on Sunday, August 25th at 5:00 p.m. EDT (4:00 p.m. CDT, 2:00 p.m. PDT). How can socialists help to decisively defeat MAGA forces while building working-class political power and organization? Join panelists Bill Fletcher, Meizhu Lui, Puya Gerami, and Sarah Jarmon to explore this and other questions, ask your own, and learn concrete ways you can take action both before and beyond November. Click here to register for the webinar.

• Join our trilateral session at the 2024 Socialism Conference in Chicago on Saturday, August 31st at 3:00 PM.* Entitled “What Must Be Done: Defeating Project 2025 and the Neo-Fascist Right,” the session is a collaborative project of North Star Socialist Organization, Liberation Road, and DSA’s Socialist Majority Caucus. Representatives of the three groups will discuss the threat posed by the neo-fascist right and why we have come together to defeat them, before inviting participants into a proactive, participatory strategy session to plan how the broader socialist left can work together to lead the fight against fascism.  

• Join us in New York City on Friday, September 6th for “Ensuring Democracy’s Future: Block & Build Strategy for 2024 and Beyond.” Liberation Road is proud to co-sponsor this in-person, interactive gathering to reflect on the Block & Build organizing strategy, hosted by the CUNY School of Labor & Urban Studies and Convergence Magazine. As socialists, we believe that shared strategy is crucial to guide the fight for collective liberation. That is why cadre members of Liberation Road have worked together to develop and carry out socialist strategy since our founding in 1985. It’s also why we are excited to partner with socialist groups like North Star and DSA’s Socialist Majority Caucus, and to cohere around a shared Block and Build strategy with a broader array of progressive organizations like Convergence, Working Families Party, Seed the Vote, Grassroots Power Project, and many more.  

Together, we are helping to build a stronger, more cohesive movement. But the truth is that to block the fascists and build the left, we need to go even broader, dig even deeper, and bring more people and organizations together. So please join us at one of these three upcoming events!
